About Mortaza Afghan
Mortaza serves as a Transaction Manager at NT Solar, where he supports the due diligence, structuring, and execution of renewable energy tax credit investments, working closely with investors, developers, and internal stakeholders to bring deals from underwriting through closing and funding.

Prior to NT Solar, Mortaza was a Senior Associate at Sunwealth, where he supported the execution of community-based solar and battery storage tax credit investments with high-net-worth individuals, banks, and institutional investors.
Mortaza earned his BA in International Politics and Economics from Middlebury College and his Master of International Business from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Meet Mason
About Mason Putt
Mason serves as an Asset Manager, where he supports asset management reporting and compliance efforts for a portfolio of solar and battery storage tax credit investments. His key responsibilities include generating quarterly reports and benefit schedules, overseeing capital contributions and fundings, managing receipt of priority return and residual cash distributions, and maintaining digital asset management systems.

Before joining NT Solar, Mason gained several years of experience in utility-scale solar and wind appraisals and cost segregation reports, providing him with a deep understanding of project valuation, risk analysis, and compliance requirements. Mason earned his Master of Science in Quantitative Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021.

About Paul Holshouser
Paul serves as the team leader for NT Solar, where he specializes in monetizing energy tax credits with a particular focus on solar and battery storage markets. He serves key relationships with investors and project operators. He oversees project origination, structuring, diligence, closing, and operations reporting.

Paul brings nearly two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector, enabling deep insights into renewable energy market dynamics and the complexities of energy finance. Before joining NT Solar, Paul led the finance function at Distributed Sun, a leading developer of community solar and distributed generation (DG) projects. There he led efforts to maximize project value at the time of sale, manage development spend, select new markets, and raise development capital. Earlier in his career, Paul served as a tax policy specialist at the American Wind Energy Association, focusing on wind tax credit policy and analyzing the tax equity market. He also served as a Risk Officer at Wachovia Corp, where he was involved in underwriting tax equity investments in wind energy projects.
Paul also teaches a graduate college course in the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, focused on the development and finance of solar and wind projects, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Energy Center at Kenan-Flagler.
