December 2017 marked an important milestone for the National Trust Community Investment Corporation (NTCIC) as John Leith-Tetrault, NTCIC’s founder, former President, current Public Policy Advisor, and chair of the Historic Tax Credit Coalition (HTCC), officially retired.

The House and Senate have now passed comprehensive tax reform for the first time in over thirty years. Congress has once again concluded that it is critically important to protect our nation’s historic buildings.

The House and Senate Conference Committee has reconciled the differences between the two versions of the tax bill. The agreement eliminates the pre-1936 non-historic tax credit and includes the 20% Historic Tax Credit (HTC) with a provision that it will be claimed over five years.

NTCIC is pleased to announce the recent closing of a $100 million community revitalization fund (Community Fund II) with a national bank for Historic Tax Credit (HTC) investments.

Supporters and advocates for economic development in the St. Louis region gathered on September 14 for an interactive session on financial tools which support historic preservation, job creation, and overall community revitalization.
