NTCIC Designates New Board Emeriti

At NTCIC’s October Board of Directors meeting, NTCIC designated Emeriti in recognition of their dedicated years of service to NTCIC’s board. NTCIC would like to express our gratitude to Chairman Emeritus Irvin Henderson and Directors Emeriti Mark Sissman and Kevin Krulewitch. Your leadership in the industry, commitment to supporting communities in need, and honorable dedication have contributed significantly to the success of NTCIC for more than a decade.

NTCIC’s immediate past Chairman Irvin Henderson was elected to the Board in 2002 and served in multiple capacities including Chairman of the Board from 2012-2018. As the President of Irvin M. Henderson & Co., a leading real estate and finance consulting firm, he has advised NTCIC’s board in the areas of community development, collaboration, reinvestment, bank regulatory matters, and project design. As a thank you for his many years of devoted and invaluable service to the organization, as well as his deep commitment to investing and strengthening underserved communities, in 2018 the Board of Directors passed a resolution to rename the NTCIC Main Street Small Deal Fund as the “Irvin Henderson Main Street Revitalization Fund.” This innovative program provides below-market tax credit financing through the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) and Historic Tax Credit (HTC) programs to historic properties located in economically distressed Main Street communities.

Kevin Krulewitch was elected to the NTCIC Board in 2008 and has served for the last several years as Chair of the Audit Committee. In 1988, he co-founded DTA, LLC – The Downtown Alternative, a real estate development, and construction management company. Kevin is also Managing Broker of the Real Estate Alternative, LLC, which focuses on residential brokerage and sales, and is a member of the National Association of Realtors. Kevin and his development partners have received numerous awards acknowledging their redevelopment efforts, including Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana’s Sensitive In-fill Housing Award and Sensitive Historic Rehabilitation Award.

Mark Sissman was elected to the NTCIC Board in 2008 and served as on NTCIC’s Investment Committee and was previously Chair of NTCIC’s Governance Committee. As the President of Healthy Neighborhoods, Inc., a Baltimore community development intermediary, he develops and provides market-driven strategies to increase home values. His commitment to the communities in need includes roles as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hippodrome Foundation, the Enterprise Foundation as President of the Enterprise Social Investment Corporation (ESIC) and Vice Chair for Strategic Initiatives, and the Baltimore Community Foundation on its Community Development Committee.
