CohnReznick is scheduled to host their 17th annual New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Summit in Miami Beach, FL from May 14-16 where NTCIC will be attending. The conference will bring NMTC investors, developers, and advocates together to network and discuss ways to support the NMTC at the local, regional and national levels.
Over the course of three days, NTCIC will be engaged in multiple conference sessions and activities. Conference attendees are invited to meet NTCIC team members:
Merrill Hoopengardner on Tuesday, May 15 at The Community Development Big Bang Theory panel. Merrill will be one of four executives participating on the panel. The interactive discussion will revolve around insights on how big data and business intelligence are colliding with the NMTC and community development financial institutions industry. Merrill will contribute insight on how NTCIC is using data and technology to accomplish the mission of saving places that matter in sustainable neighborhoods. The panel will also explore how the industry may leverage systems to generate information and make better business and community decisions nationwide.
Merrill will also be attending the Women in Tax Credits networking breakfast on Tuesday, May 15. As President of NTCIC, Merrill directs fundraising and acquisitions opportunities, develops and implements overall strategy and new lines of business for the company and coordinates governing board/staff relations.
Kandi Jackson at the Women in Tax Credits networking breakfast on Tuesday, May 15. She will also be at NTCIC’s table outside of the Americana ballroom and throughout the conference. As Managing Director, Kandi oversees the acquisitions and underwriting team of NTCIC with a focus on Historic Tax Credit (HTC) and NMTC investments. Kandi’s team is primarily responsible for finding, underwriting, closing, and initiating the first equity and loan disbursements to a project. She also originates and manages NTCIC’s upper-tier investor relationships. Kandi has more than 20 years of senior level experience in real estate development and finance.
Heather Buethe at the Women in Tax Credits networking breakfast on Tuesday, May 15. She will also be at NTCIC’s table outside of the Americana ballroom and throughout the conference. As Director of Project Management, Heather oversees NTCIC’s HTC and NMTC project management team, which is primarily responsible for underwriting and closing debt and equity investments in projects throughout the United States. Heather has more than 10 years’ experience in the tax credit industry. She began her tax credit career with the law firm Husch Blackwell LLP, where she counseled investors, lenders, community development entities, and developers. Heather also spent over three years at a national bank where she managed complex, multi-tiered federal and state HTC and NMTC transactions with multi-million dollar investments.
Matthew Prickett at NTCIC’s table outside of the Americana ballroom and throughout the conference. Based in St. Louis, Matt is responsible for identifying, structuring and preliminarily underwriting prospective federal/state HTC and NMTC investments. Matt has over 15 years of experience in community development and real estate finance. Prior to coming to NTCIC, Matt played an active role on the HTCC board where he was the primary board member to spearhead a new membership drive.
Amanda Bloomberg at the Women in Tax Credits networking breakfast on Tuesday, May 15. She will also be at NTCIC’s table outside of the Americana ballroom and throughout the conference. Amanda is responsible for identifying, structuring and preliminarily underwriting prospective federal/state HTC and NMTC investments. Amanda has over nine years of experience originating, structuring and closing Low Income Housing Tax Credit and HTC transactions.
